Let me ask you...

  • When the hamster wheel stops, do you feel lost when you're not taking care of others?
  • Do you feel you're meant to do more?  Something with purpose ...something creative?
  • Know meditation would help but don't know where to start?
  • Are you too overwhelmed to add one more thing to your day?

"I have a never ending to-do list"

"I can't finish things I start."

"I want to be creative but I'm not inspired..."

"I need to do something apart from my work, my kids..."

"I feel stressed and unfocused."

"I have no time for anything... especially for myself."

"I used to be creative but my brain hasn't worked that way in a long time..."

"I can run a small country but I've lost a part of myself in the process."

"I don't have a creative bone in my body..."

"Every day is a blur.  Who am I?"

"I know meditation would benefit me but I've tried it and can't do it..."

"Time for myself? Funny."

Sound familiar? You're in the right place.

What if Instead...

  • You can relax and recharge in just a few minutes a day
  • You're more patient with yourself, your family
  •  You laugh more
  • You're seeing possibilities instead of challenges

  •  And you're actually get more done
  • Your creative wheels are turning ...and it's fun

Join me for 21 days of mindfulness & creativity...

This digital online program is a simple framework for you to begin to connect with your creative self through mindfulness by doodling, drawing, or painting with a collection of printable mandalas as your guide. You'll learn scientifically proven strategies to incorporate mindfulness in your creative practice and daily life.

How does this work?

What you practice grows. If you're stressed, you're building neural connections for more stress. If you're fully immersed in the present moment without judgement, you're building neural connections that support mindfulness. When you're creative, you become more creative. This practice works on 3 levels: consistency, creativity, and mindfulness. Plus, you'll learn how to take these skills into your everyday life. And that's where the real benefit happens.

The mandalas in this collection are based on The Seed of Life —a beautiful, ancient, and sacred geometry mandala. You may choose any mandala for your daily practice. You don't have to go in order, stay within the lines, or use any specific art supplies. The power of this program lies in it's simplicity and guides you to release resistance for greater peace, intentional living and a flexible, creative mind.

Rules of the game:

1. Commit to sitting down with one mandala a day for 21 days in a row. There is no time requirement. Even a few minutes count. You're free to do as many as you'd like, for as long as you'd like. Just set your intention to give yourself a few minutes a day with one mandala.

2. No judgement. If you notice that you're judging your practice, just notice the judgement and move on. The magic is in the practice, not the outcome.

You'll have support with weekly modules and checkins.

At the end of your 21 Day Mandala Challenge, you will have taken steps towards feeling more creative, peaceful, empowered, and structured. And you may have mastered a new form of creative meditation that you can do almost anywhere.

The hardest part of this challenge may be committing to even a few minutes a day to your mandala practice. One of the most difficult things for some of us is making time for ourselves.  Noticing the time you allow for yourself may end up being one of your most valuable insights; learning to pause can be priceless.

Expanded Creativity

The simple act of taking a few minutes a day to be peacefully creative will expand and enliven the creative sites in your brain.  The more you do it, the better your brain will get at solving problems and imagining new possibilities.

Stress Relief

Being creative reduces stress by allowing your mind to focus on one thing easily. Even if you're just scribbling! It's one of the easiest ways to practice mindfulness. You'll find that working around the lines of a mandala is surprisingly peaceful, too.

Resolve

By committing to a daily practice, even for minutes a day, you'll strengthen your ability to follow through with your bigger goals more easily. You can become more empowered to say yes to things that light you up and no to things that don't.

Clarity

The combination of practicing mindfulness while actively engaging your creative self is a powerful recipe to strengthen good neural connections. It's simple mind training for more clarity and imagination.

Change your mind, change your life

What scientific research says about a creative practice:

Nicolas Turiano, PhD.

Researcher, Psychologist

"Individuals high in creativity maintain the integrity of their neural networks even into old age .... Keeping the brain healthy may be one of the most important aspects of aging successfully.

Creative people may see stressors more as challenges that they can work to overcome rather than as stressful obstacles they can't overcome."

Jonathan Plucker, PhD.

Creativity Researcher

"As strange as it sounds, creativity can become a habit. Making it one helps you become more productive."

Robert Epstein, PhD.

Psychologist, Professor, Researcher

"There's not really any evidence that one person is inherently more creative than another.  Instead, creativity is something that anyone can cultivate."

You'll receive 7 different mandalas based on The Seed of Life over the course of 21 days and 3 lessons delivered every week. Each mandala in this special collection is printable and created with light outlines to serve only as a guide for YOUR creativity. Choose any that inspire you and take time for creativity & peace.

Who's Bringing You the 21 Day Mandala Challenge?

Julie Franklin

Julie's had a bustling career (survived!) for the past few decades as an artist and letterpress printer and credits meditation and yoga for keeping her wits intact and her creativity flowing. She loves helping people make use of their creativity, drinks too much coffee, makes her own kefir, and dreams of inexpensive living buildings for all.

She's passionate about helping those that want to learn to meditate find a way, and has found one of the easiest ways to start is to make sure it's doable and fun. She believes creativity is both of those things... and can be a bridge to mindfulness, peace and innovation. The more peaceful and innovative we are, the more fun the world becomes for all of us. (And the faster living buildings will be a thing, so she can finally live in that solar passive house she's had her (mind's) eye on.)

Make it Easy, Make it You

You may find that you can fit moments of calm and mindfulness between the happenings of your busy life. Doodle a mandala on your commute, before your next appointment arrives, or while waiting in the carpool line.

Short, enjoyable practices add up for more peace and creativity with time. Before you know it, you may find yourself being mindful and feeling inspired in the checkout lane, when you're stuck in traffic, and while getting all of the things checked off of your to-do list.

Jon Kabat-Zinn, PhD

Scientist, Writer and Meditation Teacher

"Mindfulness is awareness that arises through paying attention, on purpose, in the present moment, non-judgementally."

David Lynch

Filmmaker, Painter, Musician, Singer,

Sound Designer, Photographer, and Actor

"The thing about meditation, you become more and more you"

Ekhart Tolle

Writer, Teacher

"One conscious breath, in and out, is a meditation."

Mindful Creativity on Your Schedule

Meditation and art courses typically cost $395 - $2,900.  And don't even mention the cost of therapy. While all of these are valuable, you may not have the luxury of time. Or even have a clear idea of exactly what you want to do. You may just need a doable strategy that will work with your life as it is right now.

Join Me for 21 Days of Mindful Creativity

Finding peace wherever we can is priceless. When I started playing with these mandalas, I was surprised how quickly I fell into a zen, creative flow. It didn't matter if I scribbled with a pen I found on the counter or borrowed fancy colored pencils and markers from my daughters. Something about the simplicity of these designs, and unexpectedly, the fact that I printed them on plain paper made me feel that there was no pressure to make something perfect.  If I made a mistake, I could just print another and start again. The more I did, the less I thought about the outcome. And the easier it became to simply relish the process.

I wasn't expecting how effortlessly my busy brain was calmed. It felt like a mini meditation and my creativity improved in ways I hadn't expected. I invite you to join me whether you're a working artist, or haven't picked up art supplies since grade school.

The more peace, clarity and creativity each one of us has, the better we all are. Creativity, like peace, is contagious.  Can't wait to see where this leads you.
